Milan Vlajcic. Writer, literary and film critic. Born August 23, l939. in Belgrade. Graduated World Literature with Theory of Literature at Belgrade University. He published literary essays, literary and film criticism from l959 in such eminent Belgrade magazines as Delo, Mladost, Vidici, Gledista in which he was also editor. From l970 he was journalist and editor of cultural department of Belgrade's biggest daily Politika. For this paper he wrote literary, TV, radio and drama criticism. From l985-2004 he was regular film critic of Politika. From 2004 Vlajcic was a film critic and cultural columnist of Belgrade daily Blic. He won highest national prizes for best literary criticism (l982), for the best TV criticism (l984) and for the best film criticism (l988). In 2002 he received highest national prize for achievement in film criticism, done by BK Foundation. Member of International PEN-Center, Serbian Literary Society, Association of Serbian Independent Journalists, National Film Academy AFUN and Independent Academy PANU. Vlajcic published eight books of essays, literary and film criticism. He was a member of many film juries in Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Montreal, Mannheim, Montpellier, Vienna, Krakow. He is now president of NIN Jury for the best novel in Serbia (for years 2004-2009). Speaks English, French and Italian.
