Lucy Taylor

Biography

Lucy is a New York based theater, screen and voice artist and teacher. Born in the UK and raised in Australia, she trained at The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne and after working with Sydney and Melbourne Theatre Companies and Belvoir St Theatre, moved to NYC in 2005 to become a member of renowned theater company Elevator Repair Service, collaborating on the creation of and performing in the acclaimed trilogy Gatz, The Sound and the Fury, and The Select: The Sun Also Rises, which have all toured the world and the US to great acclaim. Other collaborations include ERS with Sybil Kempson (Fondly Collette Richland) Jerome Bel (The Show Must Go On), Half Straddle (Ancient Lives and Here I Go Part II of You) and The Wooster Group (The Town Hall Affair) and most recently as Ashlee in Clare Barron's Pulitzer nominated hit play Dance Nation at Playwright's Horizons (Drama Desk 2019 Outstanding Ensemble Award, Obie Award) and Pulitzer winner Jackie Sibblies Drury's Marys Seacole at Lincoln Center Theater (Obie Award), and in Talene Monahon's How To Load a Musket at 59East59. Lucy has appeared in NBC'S New Amsterdam, CBS's Limitless, Bull and Madam Secretary as well as the award winning web-series Horace and Pete and most recently in the recurring character Bligh in IMDB TV's upcoming Leverage: Redemption. In the summer of 2019 Lucy created The Impossible Task, an interactive installation for The Deep Water Literary Festival in Narrowsburg New York. It featured a sound design by Gareth Hobbs and the voice of Tilda Swinton.
