Biography

As a teenager, Irving Taylor wrote college shows with _Vic Mizzy_ with whom he also won a songwriting contest. Enlisted in U.S. Navy on December 8, 1941, saw action in Mediterranean and Europe. Continued to write songs and work in television industry until his death. Wrote "Swing, Mr. Charlie" for Judy Garland, "Everybody Loves Somebody" for Frank Sinatra (later, Dean Martin) and "Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb" for Edd Byrnes. Also wrote for Bob Newhart, Jonathan Winters TV shows.
