Gary Pollard

Gary Pollard grew up in Redcar, North Yorkshire in north-east England, and was a keen mask maker from a young age. Before becoming a full time pro in the movie business, he had two offers from potential employers: one was from Rick Baker, who offered him a big salary without any screen credit; the other was from Jim Henson's Creature Workshop, who paid less money but made sure everyone got a credit. He chose the latter.
