Biography

After appearing in "High School Caesar" (1960), he spent ten years teaching at East Los Angeles College and overseeing its theater department. He spent the latter part of his career in set design, including organizing the famous ping pong backdrop for the film "Forrest Gump" (1994), during which he met Tom Hanks, who was suffering from a high fever at the time. A jazz enthusiast, Plumb met Louis Armstrong and refused admittance into the Freemasons due to its refusal to allow black members.
