Biography

Mike Petrone has written for film, television, and the stage for more than thirty-five years. His original musicals include, "Just Another Night at the Club", "Kateri", "Up the Crooked River", "Lookin' To The Light" ,"Full Moon" (directed by Frank Dunlop of Britain's National Theatre) and his latest work and film directorial debut, the 2021 movie "Caesar The Musical." His original scores for film include, "Flattered", "The Longest Day", "Christmas at Maxwell's", "Hard Pill" and the award-winning silent film "War Story", which Leonard Maltin called, " The best short film of the year." (2000) Mr. Petrone is also well-known as a piano man and entertainer, owing to his 28 years and 5,800 performances at Johnny's Downtown in Cleveland. He has performed with Grammy Award winning artists Leonard Slatkin, Kathleen Battle, and the Cleveland Orchestra, "The Funk Brothers", and with Tony and Grammy winner, Jim Dale. His discography includes more than twenty titles including three with Assistant Concertmaster, Lev Polyakin of The Cleveland Orchestra, as well as the new Original Cast Recording of "Caesar The Musical." He began his career as a Musical Director at The Cleveland Playhouse and resides in Cleveland, Ohio with his wife, blues singer, Kristine Jackson. He has two daughters, Sage and Solana Petrone.
