Since blowing up 150 life-size adult dolls for a science fiction film in the early 70s at the tender age of 12, Dean has experience the rugged gamut of on-set operations, and has the scars and baggage to prove it. Before teaming up with Tricia Fish for Dragonwheel (2002), Dean worked with Tricia on Shift (1997), an award-winning Canadian Film Centre short film written by Tricia and directed by Shaun Cathcart. Dean also produced the feature indie mystery-thriller Jigsaw (1999), written and directed by Paul Shoebridge, and Altarpiece (1998), an OMDC Calling Card winner by Deborah Day. He has also been involved in the indie scenes from coast to coast in Canada having worked on production in Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax. Currently working as a line producer in Toronto, Dean has worked most recently on features such as Zebra Lounge (2001), by Kari Skogland, _Time of the Wolf(2002)_ by Rod Pridy, and Partners in Action (2002) and Detention (2003) by Sidney J. Furie. After line producing Jeremy Podeswa's award-winning feature The Five Senses (1999), Dean worked as a production executive for Salter Street Films on the television productions of _"LEXX" (2000)_, _"Made In Canada" (1998)_, Emily of New Moon (1998), Foodessence, and _"Blackfly" (2000)_, before returning to features. Dean is currently making sure his daughters can pay for his retirement.
