Biography

Goran Pekovic is Professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade since 1990. He is a Chairman of the Department of Film and Television Production. His career path is enriched with Producing, Directing, Acting, Copy-writing and Creative Directing experience. He successfully led Center for Professional Development at the University of Arts as a Director, Metro TV Network as Marketing Director, and "Voice" dubbing team as Producer, Director and Actor. During his career in the education filed, Goran Pekovic has progressively became not only a leading professional in the field of television production education, but also prominent public figure and active contributor in the world of culture and media politics in Serbia. From 1994 up to 2009 he was worked as leading voice Actor, Producer and Director, dubbing cartoons and producing commercials. He gave his voice to the Fred the Flintstones, Bob the Builder, Batman, Action man, Bugs Bunny, produced and directed many cartoons. In 2009 he was first time elected in a Council of Regulatory Body for Electronic Media of Serbia and because of that he postpones his artistic career in media. From 2007 he started producing sitcoms with his students. He develop unique method to teach student how to produce sitcom or any other TV feature show. During first semester students learn how to develop idea, characters, plots and finally script. During second semester they prepare and produce half hour TV show. Mostly of them are awarded as best TV shows on "Producers Day" in Belgrade. He is an author of book "Commercial Television Management" and co-author of books "Media Literacy and Civil Society" and "Arts Marketing". In recent years, he served on the boards of various public institutions: Supervisory Board of Sava Center, Culture Commission of City of Belgrade Assembly and Professional Development Body in Ministry of Culture of Serbia. His outstanding educational and creative talents have bench marked his success story as Coordinator for MBA in Advertising and Media, program licensed by International Advertising Association. Furthermore, under his leadership this program has been the most successful Marketing Educational program in Serbia according to number of world advertising student awards for the eight consecutive years. In 1999, University of Arts awarded Goran Pekovic with Silver Medal for achievements in education. In 2003, the Association of Serbian Market Communications awarded Goran Pekovic for development and improvement in Marketing Education. He is a President of "Special Olympics" in Serbia.
