Tara A. Paul

Tara first realized an aptitude for sound at fourteen, when she discovered she could use a dual-cassette deck to "re-mix" her favorite Duran Duran albums. Encouraged by her father to pursue a career in sound-engineering, she attended a Los Angeles engineering school. She completed her first semester in the 95th percentile of her class. To this day she has had no need of her ability to draw a signal-flow chart to and from a console. Although she originally intended on a long and colorful career as a music mixer, Tara often took assistant jobs in post-production audio "just to help out some friends." However the opportunities in post-production were too good to pass up. Since then she has worked in a small handful of post-production facilities in such roles as Dialogue/FX/Music editor, foley walker, recordist and of course, re-recording mixer. Tara has been nominated for eight Emmy awards and two Golden Reels. She has won two Emmy Awards and a CAS Award, and she can still make space on the shelf for a few more.
