Marco S. Paolini

Marco received both an Academy Award for Technical Achievement and an Engineering Emmy in 2019 for the design of the Silhouette rotoscope and paint system. He worked his way up through the special effects ranks, advancing from videotape operator, to editor, to effects editing and finally to digital compositing at Digital FilmWorks, where he was the Senior Compositor for eight and half years. At Avid Technology, Marco got the software development bug as a Senior Instructor for editing and visual effects as well as a Product Designer for the Media Illusion compositing system. As a co-founder of SilhouetteFX and Digital Film Tools, Marco successfully founded, scaled, and exited those companies to Boris FX, where he continues as Product Manager and Designer for the Silhouette and Optics product lines.
