David Schied

David Schied was born in Montana and raised in Oklahoma and Texas. After high school, he went on to realize his "American Dream" to be in Hollywood movies, to author two books, and to live in Japan. Two of his now out-of-print books are "Streetwise: An Introduction to Self-Defense"; and "Safe at last! A Complete Manual to Home and Personal Security". He graduated cum laude with two BA degrees from the University of Southern California. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Education at the University of Michigan. Since 2012, he has been working on his Ph.D in Education. He is also co-founder of the Sherman Institute. A lifetime learner, David holds seven black belts in three styles of martial arts. He has a long history of "fighting" for victims' rights, civil rights, and Constitutional rights. He is also one of three Michigan delegates elected to attend the historical Continental Congress in 2009.
