Biography

Andria Savio (born February 27, 1963) is an American actress, singer, and artist. She is best known for her role in Stryker. She is famous for being with movie star legend Tony Curtis. Early life: Andria Savio was born in Manhattan, New York on February 27, 1963. She was raised in New Canaan, Connecticut where she lived in a glass house designed by her father Dino Savio inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. In fact her house was built right next to the famous Phillip Johnson original glass house, and when Savio was a little girl she would see the nuns walking all around the house, because it was converted into a convent. It was quite a unique childhood. Her childhood house today is valued at over five million dollars. Andria remembers mostly her artistic career beginning with piano lessons with the late surrealist artist Wilma Ervin - who actually wrote a book with Andy Warhol!. She is the daughter of Vicki Valley and Dino Savio. Her mother was a ballerina for The New York City Ballet and awarded best artist of the year from The Museum Of Modern Art in the early seventies. Her mother became a ballet teacher after her choreography days. Her father, also a modern artist, was an important industrial designer for IBM, Seth Thomas and Westinghouse. Together in theater her parents worked Off Broadway and her mother choreographed shows that went Off Broadway and went to summer stock, while her father designed the sets for the productions. Her grandmother Eleanor Kallman was an original Rockette in the ballet chore of The Ziegfeld Follies and danced with Fred Astaire in Bandwagon for one season as the lead actress. This show business background obviously inspired Andria to be in Show business. Andria Savio has one brother, Christopher- a Heart Surgery Medical Professional- and one sister, Laura - The New Author of "Accountability" available on Amazon. Andria has one son, Preston - Given an honorable discharge from The United States Army. Education: Andria Savio graduated from High School in 1981 in Clearwater, Florida with college credits in English. She was given an award in a national contest in 1980 in Florida for My Commitment to My Country for a speech she wrote for The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Her acting studies include studying with the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting in NYC and Milton Katselas acting with the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Career: Savio began her acting career in her early teens by starring in ingenue roles in community theater in Florida. She starred in Bus Stop playing Marilyn Monroe's famous part. She also starred in The Pleasure of His Company, Forty Karats and Lo and Behold. She was cast in her first movie Death Screams, directed by David Nelson ( The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet ), in a leading role as "Kathy" at the age of 16. She was then cast as the lead in Stryker, an action movie directed by Cirio Santiago and filmed on location in the Philippines. Savio was also a backup singer for Rod Stewart. Savio became a member of SAG from her first feature film Death Screams, and a member of AFTRA for being on General Hospital, but television was never her ambition. It was always to be a movie star. Savio starred in a few commercials one directed by her first director David Nelson, and one with Tony Curtis. Andria modeled a while for international clothing companies, A famous Lingerie company, Funky Posters, and has been seen in international catalogs and print and has been seen on covers of numerous international magazines. Personal life: Andria Savio ( Sometimes credited as Andrea Savio ) -left Hollywood after 1989. Later in life she was Involved with the presidential campaigns of former Vice President Al Gore and Senator John Edwards, and also worked with the Democratic labor party helping former NASA Astronaut Senator Bill Nelson of Florida. Since then she has remained an artist, marital status is widowed. Andria is currently a business executive in digital marketing with the USA Network Today-- and has kept up some studies with acting in The Burt Reynolds Institute now called Palm Beach Institute Of The Entertainment Arts.
