Upon completing Principle Photography in Munich and Salzburg as Director of Photography on Die Zeit, die man Leben nennt (2008)(aka "This Life is Yours"), David Sanderson has returned and relocated to California, just in time to be Director of Photography in Shreveport, Louisiana on the sensational new television project, Sordid Lives: The Series (2008) for Writer/Director, Del Shores who also Produces the 12 episodes with Stanley M. Brooks and Damian Ganczewski of Once Upon A Time Films (last year's Emmy Award Winners for Best Mini-Seies: _Broken Trail_(2007)_. Sordid Lives: The Series (2008) (Season 1) finished on time/on budget on January 27, 2008.
The following is the first part of this biography for David Sanderson:
At eighteen years of age, David Sanderson began his career as a production assistant on the feature motion picture, Convoy (1978), directed by Sam Peckinpah. After more work as production assistant, actor, property assistant and film loader on productions, such as: _Cloud Dancer_(1980_, Little House on the Priarie_(1980), The Yeagers_(1980), Mommie Dearest (1981), _Reds_(1981)_, Young Maverick (1979), _Rocky 3_(1983)_, ChiPs_(1982-1983), _Dallas_(1981-1984)_ and many more, David was hired by a Panavision Representative Company(Victor Duncan, Inc.)to work as a camera technician.
Upon satisfying his commitment there, David was accepted into the International Photographer's Guild and began work immediately as a second and first assistant cameraman on many more television and feature productions, such as _Dallas_(1986-1988)_, _Robocop_(1987)_, _The Tracker_(1988)_, Lonesome Dove (1989) (Original), Cold Sassy Tree (1989), Dances with Wolves (1990),Crime Story-The Series_(1990), Father Dowling Mysteries_(1989-1990), In the Heat of the Night_(1991-1992), _Last of the Mohicans_(1990)_, _The People vs Larry Flynt_(1997)_ and more. He also began working as an assistant and camera operator on commercial, industrial and music video projects.
After promoting to the A Camera Operator position on _Walker Texas Ranger_(, David continued in the new upgraded position on TV Movies and Features, such as _Presidents Man_(2000)_, The President's Man: A Line in the Sand (2002) and Logan's War: Bound by Honor (1998) and many more.
During his time as the A Camera Operator on _Walker Texas Ranger_(1998-2001)_, David was recruited by a European Director to work as Director of Photography on a project in Austria. With the success of that project, David was asked to return to Europe as Director of Photgraphy on many more, finally deciding to move himself and his family there in 2002. Projects included series, mini-series and features on locations in Spain, Italy, Germany and Austria over the next seven years.
