Mark F. Roling was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, he headed off to Hollywood on the tail of his first original screenplay, "Internal Affairs", a version of which was later produced by Paramount Pictures. Mark wrote the script while he was an actual Police Officer back in Wisconsin right out of college.
Mark has written television series episodes for Paramount, New World Television, FOX Television and Warner Bros. Television. He has held script analysis/editor positions in the past with New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Columbia Pictures, and many others.
From 1988 to 2006, Mark was also Director of Film Studio Operations for Warner Bros. Studios (WBTV, Warner Bros. Features, Warner Independent Pictures, Village Roadshow, Morgan Creek, etc.), all while maintaining his writing and development career. While at WB, Mark helped producers of multi-million dollar feature productions, Indie Features, and long-running TV shows complete production on the Warner Bros. properties. While some projects are listed on his IMDB page, the producers he assisted and was assigned to are too many to list, but some of the more noteworthy persons are; Clint Eastwood, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Robert DeNiro, Ivan Reitman, Kurt Russell, Tommy Lee Jones, Joel Schumacher, Mel Gibson, The Zucker Brothers, Spike Lee, Paris Barclay, Aaron Sorkin, Joel Silver, Mark Gill, Annie Liebowitz and many others, whom he still maintains industry relationships to this day.
After a short term as a Producer for TapOut Films, Mark formed Hungry Dragon Films in 2012, and has developed numerous Feature, TV and Live Event productions. In 2013, Mark and Hungry Dragon Films were part of the producing team that won critical international acclaim for the short film, "Mirage At Zabul Province", which grabbed Best Short Film and Best Director awards at film festivals Domestic and International.
Hungry Dragon's current projects include the Latino themed comedy feature, UNDERCOVER BARISTA, MOON OVER LANAI, the rock musical dramedy RAIN FOR DAYS, and the romantic comedy, MAN-DOUGH-LYNN. Mark has created and co-wrote the TV Episodic thriller, APOSTLE 21 with award winning screenwriter, Shane McCabe, hailing from Dublin, Ireland. He has also created another TV Episodic action/drama entitled, LOOSE KANNON for Ryan Hurst, as well as a horror thriller being produced in 2020 entitled; THE WINERY.
Mark was also a Project manager and an Executive Member of The Literary & Projects Review Board for NATIONAL TALENT LA (Los Angeles), a WGA/SAG/AFTRA Signatory Talent Agency located in Malibu, California.
Recently as of May 2020, he has taken a position as Chief Operating Officer for Nous Entertainment out of NYC, but located in Hollywood, concentrating on developing & financing feature and TV series projects.
