Ryan Riley was born in St. Charles, Missouri on May 15, 1979. He skies out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team. He is presently a student at Harvard College. In high school, Ryan attended the Lowell Whiteman School in Colorado. He trained for skiing there under Parker Smalley, the ex-U.S. Freestyle Head Coach, and also played soccer for two years. He joined the US Freestyle Team in 1999 and had 3 World Cups where he placed in the top-ten. In September 2001, Riley injured his right shoulder at a training camp in Chile. He is now skiing on the U.S. Freestyle team again for the 2003-2004 season, with a long term goal of competing in the 2006 Winter Games in Italy.
