Robin K Miller is a retired New York City Correction Officer who spent 20 years behind the prison walls policing male prisoners on Rikers Island. After retiring, she penned her memoirs, Inside the Dark Underbelly of Rikers Island , A Retired Female Correction Officer Speaks Out. She has appeared on CNN live with Anderson Cooper and Poppy Harlow, WABC, Nightline World News, NY Post, Village Voice, Vice Magazine to name a few. The D.O.C. tv Series is derived from her book. She filmed a test pilot/trailer Rockk Island tv Series to spark a public interest. Her knowledge and experience enabled her to create a lane of her own, to construct a unique tv series , in the form of a reality based drama with a comedic edge. Whereas most prison movies focuses on what inmates do behind the prison walls. Her original concept focuses primarily on what her colleagues, the correctional officers really do behind the prison walls. That only a correctional officer would be privy to and the world would be fascinated to see.
