She is one of the most famous dramatic sopranos in the world, and has performed at many of the world's great opera houses. She is renowned for her starring performances in the operas Turandot, Tosca, and Elektra. She has also performed the lead roles in many Wagner operas, including Tannhauser, Lohengrin, and the role of Brunnhilde in the Ring operas.
