Biography

Blaine Novak has been in the motion picture industry for over 25 years. As a writer/director of 2 independent feature films, he has also written over 17 features, including _They All Laughed (1981)_, directed by 'Peter Bognodovich', and _Strangers Kiss (1981)_ by 'Matthew Chapman'. Novak's career in the motion picture production started after a very successful run as an independent distributor. Having been mentored by John Cassavetes himself, Novak successfully distributed notable independent and foreign films such as _Woman Under The Influence, A (1974)_ Hester Street (1975), _Cousin Cousine (1975)_, and Serial (1980). While at United Artist under James Velde, he distributed highly acclaimed pictures: Lenny (1974), _Electra Glide In Blue (1973)_, and _One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)_. His successful reputation as a filmmaker-centric distributor, many high profile filmmakers/directors hired him as their distribution representative to Major Studios.
