Andrés Morales

Biography

He was born in Palmira, a small city in western Colombia. Cinematic arts has been his calling since childhood. His beginnings were as assistant director working in soap operas, but later he traveled to prepare himself as a film director at the School of San Antonio de los Baños Cuba, and the School of Eliseo Subiela in Buenos Aires. He is a photographer and editor. He has directed award-winning short films and video clips for national and international artists, worked for commercial television in Colombia and directed the documentary series "Ilustradores" for Canal á in Argentina. After 20 years he returned to his homeland, Palmira, where he founded the Audiovisual School of Villa de las Palmas. He was recently nominated for the India Catalina Awards, the most prestigious award for television in Colombia, for the production and photography of the documentary series "Buena Letra". He is soon to debut his first documentary feature "El Hombre Universal" about the life and work of the black writer Arnoldo Palacios for the Telepacífico Channel.
