He was born in a small town in central Wisconsin, a track and football star in High school, and also the Photo Club president for 3 years. He majored in Electronics and Communications at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At the age of 19, he began work in live and taped television video production. His early experiences included Technical Direction for the first live broadcast of Wisconsin's Gubernatorial Press conference, and live broadcasts of the University of Wisconsin Badger Hockey games. His early directorial experience included both commercial production and live sporting events. He studied Special Effects under Albert Whitlock and Lorne Petersen, and won 25 local and area awards for commercial production, including voice-over work. Upon moving to Los Angeles in the mid 1980s, he began working as a Technical Director in Sit-coms, and supplemened his work schedule with live sporting events. In the late 1980s he was hired by Prime Ticket, which later became Fox West, as a Director. Since then, he has directed virtually every type of live sporting event, from NFL Football, NBA Basketball, to Barry Bonds season Home Run record breaking game with Vin Scully. He has directed boxing events 8 seasons for Fox Sports Net, from the programs inception. An Emmy and Aurora winner, he is extremely well respected as a live events Director, bringing to the table a combination of editing, engineering, directing, and people skills. He is an asset to any production. Hobbies include a love of photography, web design, and decades of playing jazz and blues guitar.
