Biography

James studied Film and Television in the North East of England at Northumberland College of Art and Design. As part of his graduation James worked on the Short Film "Crywolf" with Steve Hughes. After finishing studying in 1994, James joined the BBC as a TV Operator in later that year. James worked on a number of BBC News awarding winning shows, including Breakfast With Frost and Working Lunch. During his time at BBC News James produced a number short films with Director and college friend Steve Hughes, the most notable "Persistence" a 34 minute short thriller with a budget of just 4k. From 2001 to 2008 James was a Series Producer and then Executive Producer at BBC Sport, overseeing the production of Football Focus, and in 2004 launching the BBC 2 flagship football highlights programme Match of the Day 2. Since 2008 James has been Commercial Director at Sports Media Services company deltatre
