Alootook Ipellie was born in 1951 in Baffin Island, Nunavut, Canada. He was an actor and writer, known for Legends and Life of the Inuit (1978), Trial at Fortitude Bay (1994) and The Owl and the Raven: An Eskimo Legend (1973). He died on September 8, 2007 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
