Masato Ide is a Japanese screenwriter and novelist. He has collaborated in writing the screenplay of over 50 movies including Akira Kurosawa's "Ran", "Red Beard" and "Kagemusha : The Shadow Warrior" or Yoshitarô Namuro's "Kichiku". He was born on January 1, 1920 in Saga, Japan and died on July 17, 1989 in Tokyo.
