Willie Ingram

Carnival sideshow performer Willie "Popeye" Ingram was born in the early 1930's in Alabama. Ingram discovered at the age of four that he had the unique ability to make his eyeballs pop an inch out of their sockets. Ingram subsequently joined up with Walter L. Wanous & Sons, which was an Alabama-based sideshow that toured with carnivals throughout the country. Willie's highly peculiar talent not only garnered attention from both the tabloid newspaper "The Weekly World News" and the TV series Ripley's Believe It or Not! (1982), but also landed him a role as himself in the low-budget British horror shocker The Freakmaker (1974).
