Biography

Søren Hyldgaard has quickly become one of Europe's sought-after screen composers since his feature film debut with Eye Of The Eagle in 1997. In 2003 he wrote the title song for UK comedian/actor Lee Evans as well as scoring the prestigious film of the legendary tales of Jester Till (2003), "The Jester Till", opening in many countries 2003/4. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, 6 Aug 1962, he has received numerous music awards during his career. In May 2001, he accepted a prestigious artistic acknowledgement award for his achievements in film scoring, presented to him by The San Diego Film Commission in Southern California. Other film scoring awards include the Danish Film Academy's Robert Award for The One and Only (1999) ["The One and Only"]. Recent credits include music for Nicole Kidman in Dogville Confessions (2003). The short film "When Life Departs" gained an Oscar-nomination in 1998. Hyldgaard's concert music is published by the Hal Leonard Corporation, USA/Austr. /New Zealand, and De Haske, EU and Japan. Among the score releases are Hyldgaard's 'Hans Christian Andersen Suite', the Hollywood-styled 'Marche Americana' and `Rapsodia borealis', a concerto for Trombone and Orchestra.
