Diane Houghton is a singer and actor, whose career spans musical and dramatic theater, film, and television. Roles include Mrs. Lovett in "Sweeney Todd," Linda in "Death of a Salesman," Kate Keller (Mother) in "All My Sons," Hattie Walker in Sondheim's "Follies," Joanne in "Company," Dolly Levi in "Hello, Dolly!," Mama Rose in "Gypsy," and a host of Shakespeare roles, including Lady Macbeth, Nurse in "Romeo and Juliet" and Maria in "Twelfth Night." She has performed at the New York City Musical Theater Festival, Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater and Marriott Lincolnshire Theater, and Barrington Stage (MA), as well as spending more than a decade with the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival (Shakespeare in Central Park). She has also appeared on the Dave Chappelle Show and in the NBC-TV film, "In the Shadow of a Killer."
She has worked with Broadway Tony Award Winners Donna McKecknie, Charles Durning and Rondi Reed, singers Marnie Nixon and Jeanette McDonald, and film/TV stars Gary Cole and Scott Bakula.
As of 2012, Diane is teaching and performing her one-woman cabaret show, "Portraits."
