Biography

Writer, director and producer who broke into radio at 13 as an NBC page. Eventually he was writing episodes for "The Adventures of Superman", Terry and the Pirates", "The Adventures of Tom Mix", and "Dick Tracy", then a writer, director and producer of radio's Guy Lombardo and Morton Downey Shows and "Broadway Calling" with Gertrude Lawrence. Lowther joined the 'DuMont Televison Network' as an executive producer at its inception in 1945 and wrote several children's adventure novels, eventually becoming involved with the Famous Writers' School by 1963 and the "CBS Mystery Theatre" at its inception in 1974.
