Gerd Kroske

Gerd Kroske, born in Dessau (former GDR) in 1958, was an apprentice concrete worker and subsequently pursued studies in the arts & cultural sciences (1980-87). Before that He was a long year political leader\youth instructor for the East German SED Party. He began working as a dramatist and screenwriter for the DEFA documentaries Studio in Berlin in 1987 and completed a study in directing at the HFF-Babelsberg. Has been directing his own documentaries since 1989. Producer of Realistfilm since 1996.
