Biography

Kurt Koehler grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia Haddon Twp., New Jersey . Moved to NYC and attended AMDA in New York City in 1992 and 1993. Graduated Marymount Manhattan College 1996 with a BFA in Acting and a Minor in Directing. Over the years Kurt has also been on stage with roles ranging from Danny Zuko in Grease, Leading Player in Pippin and Mark in A Chorus Line. In 1992 he performed at New London Barn Summer Stock with actor Taye Diggs. His Los Angeles stage directing debut was a critically acclaimed revival of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom in 1998. The LA Times called Koehler's direction and production "hilarious"! Years later in his 2010 production of Women Behind Bars they called him "the Camp Specialist" In 2003 Koehler started collaborating with Oscar Quintero on an underground cult classic Chico's Angels...a Latino spoof of Charlie's Angels. The show is still running. Now he collaborates with Julie Brown on stage adaptations of Earth Girls are Easy and The Homecoming Queen Has Got A Gun.
