Director Olufunmilayo Gittens (BA, Brown University, MFA in film production from Boston University) has received awards in numerous film festivals across the country. Her film Lucky was picked up by Los Angeles-based distributor Lead Dog Entertainment, and was selected to appear in the Global Cinema TV film series hosted by Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, Hand that Rocks the Cradle) for cable's Black Family Channel. Olu was on the production team for Cyberchase, the Emmy-winning animated children's PBS television series. Her work as a theater director was featured in the Ain't I A Woman Theater Festival and funded in part by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs via the Brooklyn Arts Council. Olu has received citations from the Brooklyn Borough President's Office and the City Council of New York for her contribution to the arts through film. Her multi-camera TV/web soap opera Choices, produced at MNN-TV, was a three-time winner in the 2012 L.A. Web Fest. Olu is producing her first feature film Baby of the Family with producers Nicole Sylvester and Rahsan Lindsay.
