Blanche Gillespie was the daughter of Charles W. Gillespie and lived in Bexar, Texas in 1920, where her father was a dairyman. She was 11 years old when she performed in The Masked Rider, in which she did her own riding and shooting. Her father was born in Indiana and mother, named Lizzie or Gussie, was of French and Irish descent, born in Louisiana. It appears Blanche was a local girl without acting experience known to and hired by producer Patrick McGeeney to appear in the serial and that this was her only film.
