Irina Gardescu

Irina Gardescu was born in Bucharest, as daughter of the famous Romanian comedian actor Nicolae Gardescu and his wife, a former ballerina from the "Operette". She was just a pupil, a young , beautiful girl, as million of others, with no experience in acting, when Francisc Munteanu took her to the film, but her career started well, so that she went on filming, never finishing her high school. In 1975 she defected to America, settling in New York, where her mother and sister already lived, while her father remained alone "at home", in Romania.
