Kari Kirsten Frisell was born in Oslo, Norway in 1922, her parents were Emil Frisell and Lilly Magnussen. She studied singing with the educator and former singer Mimi Hviid, (1874-1962) and soon she became one of Norway's foremost sopranos. From 1958-1969 she was employed at the Norwegian Opera, later she worked as a freelancer. In 1973 she became an educator at the Norwegian Academy of Music. She had various appearances in radio and television, but only in one film. (1946) Frisell was a legend in the Norwegian opera community, almost a history book with her good memory. She was at her death in June 2022, nearly a hundred years old.
