Eric Fryer

Biography

Eric Fryer is a Canadian actor born in Scarborough, Ontario. He is best known for his leading role in HBO's docudrama The Terry Fox Story (1983), where Fryer played the activist and marathon runner Terry Fox famous for his personal marathon crossing Canada to raise awareness on cancer research after losing a leg due to the disease. Like Fox, Fryer also used a prosthetic leg after losing his real leg due to cancer. He won a Genie Awards as Best Actor in a Leading Role for his memorable performance. He never returned to the screen with more roles and very little is known about him.
