JD spent years working as a union gaffer and grip and then running a production service and equipment rental company with sound stages and lighting trucks before making the transition to production. That strong technical background makes him a cost-effective and facile problem solver with an intimate understanding of the needs of his crew and the ability to quickly improvise solutions to production challenges. He's worked on dozens of movies and countless other productions. He knows where to save money without compromising production value. Over the years he's acquired a valuable collection of resources, a strong support network, a hands-on production style and undying enthusiasm which he brings to every production he works on.
