Biography

George Forrest and Robert Wright were writing partners for 72 years. Their collaboration on such indelible favorites as "Stranger In Paradise", "Night Of My Nights", "Sands Of Time", "Baubles, Bangles And Beads" and "And This Is My Beloved" from the 1953 Tony Award winning, Broadway musical "Kismet" and the 1978 Broadway musical revival "Timbuktu!" are remembered best today. Altogether, the pair wrote over 2,000 songs for the Broadway stage and motion pictures. Under contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, they wrote a new score for the 1937 Jeanette MacDonald-Nelson Eddy classic; "Maytime."
