Biography

Aleshka Ferrero is a Puerto Rican film editor based in LA, CA. Her first feature film was Luis Mandoki's Innocent Voices (Voces Inocentes), which premiered at TIFF, won the Crystal Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, was Mexico's official Academy Awards selection for Best Foreign Film and earned her an Ariel Award nomination for Best Editing. Ferrero went on to edit Patricia Riggen's Under The Same Moon (La Misma Luna), an Official Selection at both Sundance and Toronto, and one of the biggest grossing Spanish language films in the US. Other notable work includes Fina Torres' Liz in September (Liz en Septiembre), the Sundance Channel documentary series Transgeneration, and Roberto Sneider's Tear This Heart Out (Arráncame La Vida) which made the short list for the Academy Awards Best Foreign Film Nominations. Her latest feature is Sneider's You're Killing Me Susana (Me Estas Matando Susana) starring Gael García Bernal. Most recently, she completed Terence Nance's award winning short They Charge For The Sun as part of Film Independent's Project Involve Fellowship and Rosie Haber's Ink for the AFI Directing Workshop for Women. In 2017, she was selected to participate in the American Cinema Editor's Diversity Mentorship Program.
