A veteran actor with numerous credits, Grainger recently completed, "Dr. Death" for Universal/NBC, that will stream on The Peacock networks summer of 2021 also, "The Good Lord Bird," from James McBride's novel, directed by Albert Hughes; Hines also recently completed, Jack London's, "Martin Eden," directed by Jay Craven. Grainger also appears in Joel and Ethan Coen's, "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs." Hines plays Mr. Arthur in "The Gal Who Got Rattled" in the anthology film. Grainger played Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln (2012). Other films include Jason Bateman's The Family Fang (2015) and Fred Vogel's The Final Interview (2018). Grainger spent two seasons on Steven Soderbergh', The Knick (2014) as Captain August Robertson and he recurred as Doc Whitehead on AMC's Hell on Wheels (2011). A long career guest-starring on episodic shows such as Bull (2016), Blue Bloods (2010), Elementary (2012), Criminal Minds (2005), and many more. Grainger is an avid horseman and a playing member of the United States Polo Association.
