Biography

Bandleader, songwriter ("It Isn't Fair"), composer, author, conductor and magician. After his college education and private music study, he conducted the orchestral accompaniment to Sophie Tucker's stage performances, and also conducted in vaudeville and revues. Eventually he led his own dance orchestra in ballrooms, on radio and in theatres. He made many recordings, and at times had also performed as an illusionist. Joining ASCAP in 1940, his other popular-song compositions include "After the Rain", "Haunting Memories", "Time Will Tell", "Am I Asking Too Much", "Moments in the Moonlight", and "I'm Gertting Nowhere Fast With You".
