Biography

Eric Hanson Eric Hanson is the Director of Digital Media for NBC's Stamford Media Center. Hanson started his elaborate career at NBC four years ago as the Digital Producer for Crazy Talk, when mid-season stepped into the role of Digital Producer at Maury. As Director of Digital Media, Eric oversees the studio's digital portfolio of shows, including Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show, Jerry Springer and most recently, launched Judge Jerry. In addition, Hanson spearheads all in-house digital pilots and original series. With Eric at the helm, last year's YouTube subscribers grew 653% with over 4,695 years of show content streamed on the platform. Hanson was also pivotal in bringing Voice Technology to Daytime Talk, launching the first-ever daytime skill on Amazon Alexa. Eric started his career in daytime talk as Vice President of Development and Branded Entertainment for the Montel Show. While working on Montel, he realized the impact of digital media and launched the first podcast for a nationally syndicated talk -show. After leaving Montel, Hanson soon found his niche in creating digital and social media departments for many of America's favorite daytime talk shows. In his free time, he's involved in the Stand-Up Comedy world. Hanson has produced eight, half-hour stand-up specials. Where he was instrumental in the development and creation of a sitcom pilot, produced by Eva Longoria's production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. He currently advises and oversees two of New York City's most iconic comedy clubs, Broadway Comedy Club and Greenwich Village Comedy Club. In 2017, Hanson produced his first full-length Off-Off Broadway Musical, Letters from the Ghetto, which will be moving to a larger theater this summer for a limited run. Hanson is a founding member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, made up of over 2,000 members of industry experts and technology innovators. The IADAS also produces The Webby Awards each year. Hanson prides himself on his active role as Co-Lead for NBC's Employee Resource Groups.
