Jef spent over 8 years as a firefighter & Medic in Va. & Pa.. While with the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department, Jef was part of the Fire/Rescue boat crew & an instructor at the Fire & Rescue Academy. Originally focused on the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, hoping to study practical Special F/X under Tom Savini Jef felt the Institute did not offer a challenging enough curriculum at the time. Graduating from Pitt with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the study of Film, Television & Radio, minoring in Criminology.
After graduating Jef worked on various projects in various roles. Including Special F/X tech on "The Pelican Brief", a Medic on projects like "Op-Center". As a cook at a D.C. biker bar, weapons specialist on "7 Days", a bartender, Props/weapons on "Forrest Gump". Professional fire dancer, security attaché & a"Rock'n'Roll" Rigger. Deciding to further his education he headed back to school.
Jef earned two additional degrees from Full Sail University. First, Film, being awarded every possible honor & award upon graduating, including each individual Course Director's award & the singular Advanced Achievement Award. He was also in a three way tie for Validictorian. While perusing this degree Jef's screenplays were chosen twice to be Produced & he to Direct. Jef lives with his Wolf & continues to work in many facets of Production. Usually related to Stunt / Action / Safety Coordination and performance.
