Raised in Llanelli, South Wales by her parents David Michael Creel and Kathryn Bonnam Creel, her love for acting came after winning the role of 'Mic Y Mwnci' for the Welsh radio program 'Sbardun'. Abigail Creel had weekly elocution lessons with Miss Thelma Dora Magdalene Beynon to correct her Rs and Ss. Miss Beynon encouraged Abigail to start doing examinations for LAMDA in poetry and prose and she fell in love with Shakespeare's work, in particular King Lear. In 1995, Creel achieved a Gold Medal in poetry and prose. She also did reading and acting exams for LAMDA. Creel was a member of the National Youth Theatre of Wales from 1995 - 2000 where she performed in numerous productions and also a member of the Three Counties Choir. Creel studied Drama and Film & Television Studies with Musical Theatre at Brunel University, London where she gained a BA Honours degree. The actress Suzanne packer was one of her lecturers.
