Laxmi Chhaya

Laxmi Chayya was mainly known for her vamp roles and item dances in Hindi films during the 60's & 70's. She portrayed modern and traditional women characters in many films. Her noted performances were in 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh', 'Kundan' and 'Raaste Ka Patthar'. With fading roles of dancers and vamps in Hindi films, her career like many others came to an end, especially when the heroines started to play daring/ baring roles and started to wear skimpy dresses.
