Biography

Aloura M. Charles is a graduate of the Florida State University Film School, and has been working in the industry for the last seven years assisting/mentoring with filmmakers such as Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, Gus Van Sant and Sally Field. She has directed one documentary and several narrative shorts. Her last short, Paper Roses has won awards at festivals in the United States and internationally and was bought by Atom Films. Aloura's first feature, 'Aimless', is a documentary-style narrative adventure story about three American girls backpacking through Europe and making a documentary for film school admission. Aimless premiered at the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival in November 2002. Currently Aloura is re-writing a New Orleans romantic comedy for Dominique Swain, and a period drama set in Paris for Lia and Phyllis Johnson.
