Kate Cheeseman is a BAFTA & RTS Award winning director working in both film and high-end television. She loves working with actors and has also directed in the theatre where she spent her childhood. Having studied script development she also has a strong understanding of this element of her work and additionally really enjoys the technical side of film making as she began her career in editing. She then progressed to documentary and finally fiction where she found her home. Kate won the BAFTA and Prix Danube for the BBC series Pig Heart Boy and has worked on many prestigious dramas since, most recently kicking off the latest upcoming series of Outlander, directing to extended special episodes. She has also recently made three award-winning short films; What Happened to Evie winning the prestigious Best International Short at Galway, the IMDB International Shorts Awards and five other best of category prizes. She is now developing and writing several feature films as well as continuing to direct high-end television.
