Leon Carr

Songwriter ("See the USA in Your Chevrolet", "Gina", "Hey There, Lonely Boy"), composer, arranger, pianist and conductor, educated at Pennsylvania State University and a student of the Schillinger System at New York University. He led his own dance orchestra at college, and wrote college musicals. Arriving in New York in 1935, he wrote special material for night clubs, and later, television commercials, and the off-Broadway musical "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty". Joining ASCAP in 1945, he collaborated musically with Milt Herth Earl Shuman, Leo Corday and Paul Vance. His other popular-song compositions include "Herthquake", "Your Socks Don't Match", "Bell Bottom Blues", "A Man Could Be a Wonderful Thing", "Goblins in the Steeple", "Big Name Button", "If You Smile at the Sun", "Skiddle-Diddle-Dee", "Should I Wait?", "Our Everlasting Love", "Another Cup of Coffee", "Most People Get Married", "Hotel Happiness", "Clinging Vine", "Marriage Is for Old Folks", "The Secret Life", "Confidence" and "There's No Tomorrow". He also composed the commercial "See the USA in Your Chevrolet".
