Biography

Writer, broadcaster, stand-up comedian, actor. For twenty years, Sony Award Winner, Russ Kane, was the voice of Capital Radio's 'Flying Eye' where he formed an on-air partnership with Chris Tarrant to create the most listened-to commercial radio show in the world, with a daily audience in excess of 4 million. Born in London, educated at Dulwich College and The London School of Economics (where he studied Law), Russ has remained close to his London roots and now broadcasts on Men's Radio Station which he co-founded in January 2019. He is a Director of Women's Radio Station, founded in Jan 2018. The stations focus on mental health & well-being. He can regularly be heard on TalkRadio & BBC Radio London. Russ is the founder of 'The Espresso Bar' - a discussion forum on Facebook with over 1000 members. The group strives to give men over 40 a virtual space to meet up and find a support network. Russ Kane has been an after-dinner speaker for many years, covering a plethora of organisations, from The Association of Palliative Care Workers to Coutts Bank and just about everything in between. Russ's talent for public speaking has been put to good use in his one-man stand-up show 'Kaned Laughter' which has been performed to sell-out audiences across London, Los Angeles and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With a background as an advertising copywriter, both in London and New York, Russ specialised in the corporate sector and amassed fifteen international writing awards for his work, including the Gold Medal at the New York Film and Television Festival. A talented writer, in 2002, his autobiography 'Shout At The Moon' was published to great critical success. Following this, Russ's debut novel, 'The Gatekeeper', a fusion of his characteristic wit into the horror-mystery genre, was published in 2019. A second novel is under-way.
