Biography

Nicholas Eliopoulos has Produced and Directed four Specials: Mary Pickford, The Muse of the Movies narrated by Michael York(2008), Russia Today, a Peoples Journey to Democracy (1992) narrated by Sharon Gless, Visions of a New World (1995) featuring Ted Danson and Marsha Mason, and Heartbeat (1987), an MTV Special starring Don Johnson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Bonnie Raitt. Mr. Eliopoulos is Produced and Directed his fifth Documentary Special entitled "Celebrating Laughter, The Life and Films of Colin Higgins" (2014). He also Produced and Directed the animated short Fly Me to the Moon (1996), with (the voice of Bart Simpson), Nancy Cartwright. He served as Associate Producer of the off-Broadway Play, "Bermuda Avenue Triangle," starring Renée Taylor, Joseph Bologna, and Nanette Fabray. As an Editor, Mr. Eliopoulos won an Emmy Award for the CBS Mini Series, Wallenberg: A Hero's Story (1985), and a Golden Reel Award for Best Picture Winner Out of Africa (1985). For Executive Producer and Filmmaker John Singleton, Nicholas edited Woo (1998) starring Jada Pinkett Smith. He also edited The Thin Pink Line (1998), featuring an ensemble cast including Mike Myers, Jason Priestley, Jennifer Aniston, Janeane Garofalo, and David Schwimmer. For the late Comedy Writer/Director Colin Higgins, Nicholas served as Animation Supervison for the Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton film 9 to 5 (1980), and also for Higgins he was Film Editor on Universal's The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982). For Shirley MacLaine and Colin Higgins, Nicholas did character breakdowns from the novel for the Mini Series Out on a Limb (1987). Nicholas has written four screenplays of his own: "Archie and Born," "Sun Razor," "Zip and Zelli," and the Science-Fiction Dance Movie "Cyberhop." Gotham Entertainment optioned Mr. Eliopoulos' original story treatment entitled "Murder Me."
