Mickey Madoda Dube is an award winning Film, TV and Commercials Producer/Director. A Fulbright Scholar at renowned University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in the USA, he studied under the tutelage of reputable filmmakers such as Milos Forman (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest), Joe Minion (After Hours, Vampire's Kiss), Woody Omens (Coming to America, Boomerang), Ivan Passer (Stalin).
Mickey's maiden film, Imbazo (The Axe), was produced at USC, then in 1999 he produced and directed his first feature, 'Nagstappie' (A Walk In The Night) and he went on to complete other South African TV Dramas and film shorts such as 'Saints, Sinners and Settlers', 'Umthunzi Wentaba' (Mountain Shadow), and the 'Music of the Violin'. In 2011 Mickey co-produced the feature film, 'Man On Ground' directed by Akin Omotoso, and he has just produced and directed his latest feature film, 'Comatose' with a South African, Nigerian and International cast which is expected to be released in 2018.
Mickey has also produced and directed many international and South African Commercials for brands such as Pepsi, Standard Chartered Bank, Coke, Barclays Bank, Globacom, Kenya Airways, 7up, Anglo American, filming in China, the USA, Russia, the UK, and many countries on the African continent.
TV series and magazine shows, including the South African version of 'Sesame Street', working with the New York based CTW have part of his production and directorial work. He also helped create South Africa's first award-winning Educational TV Programme 'Take 5', as well as one of his most fulfilling works, a Pan African TV Reality Series called 'Imagine Afrika' created to inspire young Africans to become change agents in their communities.
On documentaries Mickey has filmed many notable people such as Nelson Mandela, Richard Branson, Andrew Young, Graca Machel, Abedi Pele, Easy E, George Weah and Jesse Jackson, just to mention a few, working with bodies such as the United Nations, The Gates Foundation and The Henry J. Kaiser Foundation. He also worked on the multi award-winning 'Sobukwe: A Great Soul and global 'One Humanity', featuring music and interviews from the likes of Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox, Alan Yentob, Tony Hollingsworth, Peter Grosslight, Ron Dellums, Robin Denselow and many more.
