Assia Djebbar

Assia Djebbar was born on June 30, 1936 in Cherchell, Algeria. She was a director, known for The Zerda and the Songs of Forgetting (1983), La nouba des femmes du mont Chenoua (1979) and Double je (2002). She was previously married to Malek Alloula and Ahmed Ould-Rouïs. She died on February 6, 2015 in Paris, France.
